The Rabbit Hole

We have all experienced the "rabbit hole." It's a place we end up when we give all our energy to those things that cause stress and anxiety. One not so good feeling situation happens and then it seems like three more follow. All you can think about is how bad all of it makes you feel and it seems you keep falling deeper and deeper into this pit of confusion, loneliness, and stress. You feel like there is no hope, no way out and no light at the end of the tunnel.

BUT There is a way out of the rabbit hole. You write down what is bothering you about each situation and how each situation makes you feel. 1. Write down what you can do to make you feel better emotionally, mentally, and physically. 2. Start reaching for those better feeling thoughts, one.at.a.time. 3. BREATHE - I know it sounds cliché, but breathing is the NUMBER 1 way to calm our anxiety. Air is Chi and Chi is life force energy, when we breath, we are literally recharging our life. 4. Allow yourself time to explore your situations to see where a lesson can be learned. Challenging situations can lead to learning something new; something that may help us in the future. Life gives us challenges, and we will go through heartache and pain, but it's how we get through it that matters. How we handle our thoughts, feeling and emotions during difficult times is very important. We are in control of our thoughts, yes, but external circumstances can cause triggers that spark a thought, which sparks a feeling, which then sparks an emotion.
